Come and Remember Alumnae, Family, and Friends at “Chapel Bells” Annual Memorial Liturgy
October 23, 2012
The “Chapel Bells” Annual Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday evening, November 15 at 7 p.m. in the Mount Sacred Heart Chapel. This liturgy is held in remembrance of and to honor deceased alumnae, family, and friends of the Sacred Heart community. Fr. Larry Symolon, former chaplain and current pastor of Holy Angels Parish in Meriden, will be the celebrant.
“This is a special time to pause, remember, and keep in mind those no longer with us, but always in our hearts. A very important part of the “strongbonds formed at SHA” – from our alma mater – is spiritual support and prayerful remembrance of our deceased loved ones, especially those with whom we shared special times during our years at the Academy. The names of departed alumnae and former faculty will be read prior to the Liturgy, accompanied by the tolling of the bells and lighting of the candles as a special memorial,” offered Director of Alumnae Relations, Sr. Mariette Moan, ASCJ. Also, the names of immediate family members who have died during the past year will be entered in a special Book of Remembrance for the Liturgy.
