National Chinese Honor Society Induction

May 4, 2017

In late April, our chapter of the National Chinese Honor Society (NCHS) inducted nine new members. This society was founded in 1993 to recognize outstanding high school students who study Chinese as a world language. The purpose of NCHS is to encourage its members to become life-long learners of Chinese language and culture, and to play an active role in developing global citizens.

Congratulations to the newest members of the National Chinese Honor Society:

World Language offerings at Sacred Heart currently include levels I through AP in French, Latin, and Spanish including AP French Language, AP Latin Literature, and AP Spanish Language. Mandarin Chinese (I, II, III Honors, and IV Honors) is also offered. The study of world language reinforces English skills and offers students an appreciation of the diversity of cultures and peoples according to the department chair.
