Meet the Class of 2020
September 14, 2016
The new freshman class at Sacred Heart Academy, the Class of 2020, is 116 young women strong. Members of the class come to us from sixty towns in Connecticut and ninety feeder schools. The top five feeder towns are Hamden (24), New Haven (15), Wallingford (12), North Haven (11), and West Haven (8) and the most popular names in the freshman class are Alexandra/Alexa, Christina, Julia/Julianna, Megan/Meaghan, Morgan, and Samantha.
And, the Sacred Heart Academy legacy continues… twenty-seven class members have at least one sister who is a current student or graduate, eight members of the class have mothers who are alumnae, and five members of the class have grandmothers who are alumnae.
“Sacred Heart legacy is again strongly represented in this class. We are always so pleased to welcome daughters of our alumnae who desire to continue the legacy of excellence cultivated over our 70 years in education,” offered Director of Admissions Elaine Lamboley ’60.
Members of the class have attended three orientation events offered to create a strong sense of community and to help our new students feel confident and comfortable in their new school.
The Class of 2020 will be officially inducted into the Sacred Heart community at Freshman Commissioning on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. Freshman parents are asked to attend the commissioning service and reception with their daughters.
Sacred Heart warmly welcomes the Class of 2020!
