National Mathematics Honor Society Induction

September 29, 2015

Ten new members were recently inducted to our chapter of Mu Alpha Theta—The National Mathematics Honor Society. Members are academically qualified juniors and seniors who maintain strict grade point average requirements and excel in high level math courses. Current juniors are encouraged to enter a math research project in the Sacred Heart Academy Science Fair in February, and some will go on to the Connecticut Science Fair in March. Members participate in Math League, a group that competes in the American Mathematics Contest (AMC) and the New England Math League, and are active in the Study Buddy Math Tutoring Program, Open House, and school-wide Pi Day activities. The induction was held in a joint ceremony with the Science National Honor Society.
