Sr. Sheila O’Neill, ASCJ, Ph.D., ’71 Named to Board of St. Martin de Porres

President Sr. Sheila O’Neill, ASCJ, Ph.D., ’71 has been named to the Board of Trustees of St. Martin de Porres Academy , a faith-based, NativityMiguel middle school that provides a tuition-free, extended day education for underserved girls and boys from low-income families in the New Haven area. St. Martin de Porres, founded in 2005, is based on a Jesuit model for 5th through 8th graders which uses a 10 hour school day and an 11 month school year to instill a meaningful role in the academic and spiritual life of their students.
Sr. Sheila also currently serves on the Ann Curran Center for American Catholic Studies Board at Fordham University, the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Board, and the Association of Catholic Admissions and Advancement Professionals (ACAAP) Board.
A native of New Haven, Sr. Sheila was named the first president of Sacred Heart Academy in 2010. A graduate of the Academy, she earned a B.A. in math from Albertus Magnus College, a M.A. in theology from Fordham, a both a M.A. and Ph.D. in educational leadership from St. Louis University.
