Caitlin Baker Named 2011-2012 Scholar Athlete

Senior Caitlin Baker has been named the Academy’s 2011-2012 Scholar Athlete. Recognized for her cumulative grade point average, varsity sport participation, community service as well as her self-discipline and leadership, she will be honored at the 29th Annual Connecticut High School Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner in May.
A member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Math Honor Society (communications director), Cross Country and Track teams (captain), Caitlin also serves as co-president of the Valley United Way Youth Leadership Program.
“Caitlin has been an outstanding member of both the Cross Country and Track teams. She was one of the top seven runners on the Cross Country team and qualified for the CIAC State Tournament. She is not only a leader as captain, but a leader in the community having served on many mission trips and service groups,” offered William Sikorsky, Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track coach.
“Caitlin has maintained honors for all four years and has taken accelerated courses in language, science and history in addition to reaching the apex in math. I am confident that Caitlin will be well positioned for success,” according to Patrick McAllister, guidance counselor.
