Holocaust Survivor Tells Sacred Heart Community to Speak up When Others are Silent
February 14, 2012
Holocaust survivor Anita Schorr recently spoke to the Sacred Heart Academy community…she shared with students and faculty alike the experience of being a survivor of a concentration camp. Her message was that we cannot remain silent when injustices are occurring. Ms. Schorr, kept emphasizing that…”We can’t just remember. We need to be heros. We need to speak when others are silent, we need to be mindful of those who cannot speak for themselves.” The presentation was made possible by UNITY, a club that promotes tolerance and positive human relations among the Sacred Heart Academy community. The following day, UNITY sponsored a Dress Down Day with all proceeds directed to Holocaust Child Survivors of Connecticut.
