Meet the Class of 2017
August 26, 2013
The new freshman class at Sacred Heart Academy, the Class of 2017, is 132 young women strong. Members of the class come from 35 towns throughout Connecticut and 53 feeder schools. The most popular names in the freshman class are Kaitlyn/Caitlin/etc., Samantha, Olivia, and Taylor.
And, the Sacred Heart Academy legacy continues: 29 members of the class have one or more sisters who are current students or alumnae; 28 sisters in all, 25 members of the class have mothers who are alumnae, 5 members of the class have grandmothers who are alumnae. “We are particularly struck with the number of alumnae who are sending their daughters to Sacred Heart. The presence of these young women at the Academy is a testament to the importance that families place on values learned here and their desire to ensure that the Sacred Heart tradition of excellence continues,” offered Elaine Lamboley, Director of Admission.
Members of the class have attended three “Catch the Spirit” events. These orientation activities are offered to create a strong sense of community and to help our new students feel confident and comfortable in their new school. They also attended Technology Days to familiarize them with their new computers.
The Class of 2017 will be officially inducted into the Sacred Heart community at Freshman Commissioning on Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. Freshman parents are asked to attend the commissioning service and reception with their daughters. We warmly welcome the Class of 2017!
